It was worth it

My previous post was that I blog about giveaways.  And it was worth it.  I won a fabulous prize and I learned I was a no reply blogger.  Julie at jaybirdquilts will be sending me wonderful fabric and a pattern.  She also sent me a link to a tutorial to fix the no reply problem.

Don't miss out on a prize, don't be a no reply.  Check out the tutorial at Pleasant Home to fix it.

I can't thank Julie enough.  Check out her blog she has a link to another giveaway!!

pinwheels and peace signs

I made a few pinwheels last night.  I was anxious and excited to post about it, then I got bored with it.  Still, I was pretty proud of myself.  I have five completed pinwheels from the Moda "Spring Meadow" charm pack by Cheri L. Strole.

I followed the tutorial from Missouri Star Quilt Company:  Fast and Easy Pinwheels (found on You Tube).

I have a few more pinwheels (29) to make and it will be an Easter something.  I can't decide on the end project.

Well it's another rainy spring Wyoming morning (better than snowy I guess).  I better get to sewing if I am going to have this finished for Easter.

On a different note - I found something by Riley Blake to back the peace sign cuddle.

my other hobby

I didn't post this weekend so I will slip this in before Monday morning officially gets started (pre-8 am).

This is an antique mirror and coat hooks T bought.  My father, T and I (really just my father, T and I spectated) attached the hooks to the mirror so I could hang/display my beaded jewelry (mostly necklaces).  So I took a few pictures to show my other hobby.

Over the weekend I attended a seminar in Cheyenne and gave away one of the spring quilts.  I hand-stitched the binding and stitched my initials onto the back, wrapped it in tissue paper and said goodbye to the fresh spring quilt.  But I knew I had another spring quilt waiting at home for me to bind and keep for myself.

At the seminar several ladies asked me if I could make a quilt for them, one asked for "peacocks".  I said yes I could do that (and then thought oh gosh does she want me to applique a peacock or simply use green and blue fabrics for the "peacock" quilt).  Then I thought how much do I charge for such "peacock" quilt.

My mother and I discussed how to charge for quilts.  I will have to search a few blogs and the world wide web to find the answer.

Have a good - GREAT - Monday morning!!

more spring quilting

I quilted and watched it snow this weekend.

I used these for backing for the spring quilts.

I did some straight line quilting.

And watched it snow.
